Philippine President Bongbong Marcos announced the initial findings of the audit into flood control projects, which he ordered during his State of the Nation Address in July. He revealed that fifteen contractors had secured ₱100 billion — equivalent to 20% of all flood control projects nationwide.

Among contractors listed in the audit report are those owned by Representative Elizaldy Co and businesswoman Sarah Discaya who lost in the recent local elections.
